Evaluations

Course and proseminar grades are based on a combination of examinations, assignment completions, live presentations, and/or practicum work as specified for each course by faculty. Faculty awards course grades as letter grades. Grades receive points for calculation of grade point averages on transcripts. There are no grades of C.

Faculty, at their own discretion, may approve grades of NC (no credit) for one trimester. Thereafter, an NC, if not replaced with a letter grade, turns into a grade of F. The Professional School will replace course grades of F with a passing grade if a student successfully repeats the course during a subsequent trimester. Earning credit for an individual course requires at least a grade of B-. Earning a certificate, certification, or a diploma requires an overall grade point of at least B.

The grading policy includes the following:

  • Faculty determines course grades at their own discretion.
  • Faculty posts final grades on student transcripts at the end of the trimester.
  • Faculty, at the discretion, may grant NC grades for one trimester.
  • Students have one trimester to replace an NC grade with a passing grade. If not, the NC will convert to F.
  • The Professional School does not include grades of NC in calculating grade point averages.
  • Students may remove grades of F by retaking and paying for the same course.
  • The Professional School will make grades available for viewing within 15 days of the end of a trimester.
  • Students may contest a course grade but do so not later than the end of the following trimester.
  • Students must submit their grade complaints to the Director of Education.
